Happy BirthdayS!!!

On Saturday we had two birthday parties. The first was for my Grandma Beckstead who turned 90 years old!!! It was quite the gathering and she was loving all the attention. There was a program and a couple of her grandkids prepared a video which they taped her reminiscing about her life. They caught some hilarious footage and she has quite the skeletons in her closet... She admitted she named my Step-Father Dale after her ex-boyfriend and my Step-Father didn't even know until they showed the video at her party! Also, she told a story of how she begged her husband to get rid of their mean dog and he wouldn't so when he went into the hospital for awhile she starved the dog to death!!! She said "I hope God will forgive me!" She is a hoot and we love her for it!

The second party was for the nieces and nephews in my family. It was becoming a pain to get to all the kids birthday parties, so a couple of years ago we decide to draw names and have one big party a year. This year is was at my brother Landen's house and my sister-in-law JoDee way out did herself. It was pirate themed and there was a treasure hunt, games, and a pinata! As you can see from the following pics the kids had a blast. Thanks JoDee!!

Sloane is going to be a pirate for Halloween so I thought she should totally were her costume to the pirate party!!

The first game the kids played was "Walk the Plank," if they made it all the way across they got a sword.
Take note of Landen in the chair holding the hose. The grass was considered water so if you fell off he sprayed you. As you can see from his face he enjoyed this way to much.

The next game was called "Sweep the Deck" and Brevan was very proud of himself for winning both rounds. Good job Brev, the competion was stiff.

This game was called "Cannonball Blast" and each child had a balloon tied to their ankle. This was the only pic I got because I was yelling at my niece Coree to RUN!!!

Lastly, it was pinata time!!!

Nerf Tag or Nerd Tag?

What do you get when have a thirty two year old man chasing down an innocent little eight year old with a Nerf gun? NERD TAG!!! Seriously, they had a blast and Brevan couldn't stop laughing which usually gave away his hiding spots.

Summer Is Almost Over!!

It is a little depressing to see summer come to an end but I am looking forward to life slowing down a bit. I'm posting a handful of pics of some of the the many things we did and places we went...

Unspectacular Me!!

My sister-in-law Tonya just tagged me... I am supposed to tell you about some of my flaws so here you go....

1. I am an overthinker. I totally examine everything from every angle until it drives me mad.
2. I drive way to fast. However, I am very cautious in residential neighborhoods because you gotta watch out for the little ones. The police however are going to find fault in anything I do (I just got two tickets on two different occasions) because they cited me for "rolling" through a stop sign. Jerks!!!!
3. I am a reality TV addict. It doesn't matter what station, how bad the train wreck, I'll watch.
4. I'm a yeller. When I get frustrated or upset my voice just elevates. What do you do.
5. Control Freak!!! I will never admit this again!! I am sure everyone already knew this. :)
6. Lastly, I hate to put the new roll of toilet paper on the holder. It drives Brandon crazy!!

p.s. I couldn't find a song that really went along with this post so I just went with one that I like right now and I think the title of it works pretty dang good... "Better In Time."

Future Olympic Champion?

The Olympics are all we have been watching this past week. The other night during the gymnastics competition Brevan started jumping around (driving us nuts) and then we realized he was doing gymnastics. So do we have a future Olympic champion on our hands? You decide...

Little Home Wrecker

Sloane is into everything!!! Everytime we turn our backs she is into something new. Whether it's pulling all the socks out of the drawer, books of the shelf, playing in the garbage, eating dog food...you get the picture. I don't remember Brevan being even close to this distructive. You always can count on the fact that she is into something when it gets really quiet. As you can see from the pics I have posted this was one of those moments and she just went from one place to the next on a mission to destroy!

Family Lagoon Day

Last Wednesday my family went to Lagoon for my Dad's company day. Brandon and Brevan were wimps because neither of them would go on any "wild" rides so they stuck to smaller rides and games. Brevan loved the Musik Express, Odysea, minature golfing and the swings. I LOVED Wicked (I was able to go with my bro Jeff.) Brandon was kinda bummed because he was 4 mph away on the baseball throw to win Brev a hat so we rounded up my nephew Zach to do it. Sloane loved the train ride and all the excitement going on around her. It was fun to be there with all my family.... Thanks Dad.

Funny Guy

Brevan has quite the funny bone... So when Brandon fell asleep the other day Brev decided to accessorize him with some of Sloane's things. He was laughing so hard at himself to the point he couldn't even talk! Finally I figured out he was trying to tell me to get the camera and take a picture. He is such a funny guy!

On a side note to this post I am going to try and coordinate my music with the most recent post. Brevan picked out the current song... :)

Beautiful Baby Brynlee

My sweet friend Dianna just had her baby at 29 weeks!!! She had preclampsya and retained about 60 lbs in water the poor girl. Her husband even said her back looked as wide as the hospital bed!! They are both doing well but Brynlee will stay at the hospital for awhile of course. She is already up to 3 lbs 5 oz, breathing on her own and even trying to eat from a bottle. I went and visted today and I can't even put into words how precious she is. I couldn't even take my eyes of her... She is lovely.
